If we told you that there is an artist in Iceland, whose debut album outsold Björk, Sigur Rós and Of Monsters & Men would it get your attention? That artist is Ásgeir and his debut album, “Dýrð í dauðaþögn” propelled him to the top of the charts in Iceland with these other legendary artists. At the age of 20 he had already received 4 Icelandic Music Awards.

Ásgeir is back with his 3rd full length album, Bury The Moon, which is scheduled for release in February 2020. The first single from the album, “Youth”, is a stunningly beautiful look back at Ásgeir’s childhood memories. Arpeggiated acoustic guitar, Bon Iver style vocal stacking, pulsating synths and driving rhythms propel Ásgeir as he looks back to a time when life was simple, joyful and full of promise.

The Icelandic release of Bury The Moon is called Sátt. Ásgeir worked with his poet father Einar Georg Einarsson on the lyrics for the album and American songwriter John Grant on the English translations.
